ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A new video shows state police catching up with the suspect accused of firing his gun at a Rudy’s Bar-B-Q restaurant in June.
Officers quickly responded to a series of gunshots in the Rudy’s parking lot on Carlisle in June. It’s where they found 25-year-old Emilio Mirabal armed with a gun – they say he was firing off at random.
Mirabal is accused of shooting two people who were parked in a truck.
According to documents, the two people stopped there to pick up some food. Employees described a chaotic scene.
A state police officer and an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department both fired shots at Mirabal – he wasn’t hit. He was arrested and claimed he was the one under attack.
Mirabal is in jail awaiting trial.
Meanwhile, an updated version of investigators’ documents about that incident remain sealed without explanation.
