Taos Ski Valley previews upcoming events this spring

Spring doesn't mean the end of activities at Taos Ski Valley. Here's a preview.

TAOS SKI VALLEY, N.M. — Spring break is just around the corner and you don’t have to go far to find fun here in New Mexico.

Taos Ski Valley has a full slate of events planned for spring break. You may be wondering, though, “How is the snowpack?”

“The theme I’ve heard around the Valley is surprisingly good. Not only does our mountain hold the natural snow well, we’ve invested so much in our snowmaking technology, we have a great snowmaking team, the snow is soft and we have a variety of terrain open,” said Rebecca Hagler, from Taos Ski Valley.

March is an unpredictable month where you could get a foot of snow up there or slushy conditions from 50°. Thankfully, things are looking good as some of the world’s best free skiers will be on the mountain for the Freeride World Tour Qualifier Competition from March 2-7.

Taos Ski Valley will also have Rally in the Valley on March 22 with an on-mountain scavenger hunt. There will be prizes and proceeds going to support nature-based experiences for young people in New Mexico.

Other events this March include Geeks Who Drink trivia, yoga, an open house at The Blake Spa, family crafts, ice skating and much, much more.

Rebecca Hagler, with Taos Ski Valley, stopped by to talk about all the happenings up north, in the video above.
