Alan Shoemaker: Most of New Mexico will stay dry this week
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Most of the snow ended across the state as of Saturday evening. Expect dry weather Sunday and less wind.
A short-lived warmup is forecast Sunday into Monday, with temperatures reaching well above normal by Monday.
An arctic airmass will spill down across the eastern plains Monday night, bringing well below normal temperatures that will persist through at least Thursday.
A disturbance will bring showers to northern New Mexico late Monday night through Tuesday, with the potential for snow accumulation in the mountains and across northeast New Mexico. Any accumulation of snow in the mountains is likely to be mainly around three inches or less in most areas.
Most of New Mexico will stay dry in the week ahead. Warmer weather could return to most of the state by next weekend.
