Albuquerque police shoot and kill man at apartment complex

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police shot and killed a man at an apartment complex Friday morning in northeast Albuquerque.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex just west of Montgomery Boulevard and Tramway Boulevard. No officers were injured.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, officers responded to David McElvain’s apartment where the 68-year-old reportedly talked about suicide. When officers arrived, they said he had a gun. Then, at least one officer opened fire, killing McElvain.
