ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The cold air is trapped in the eastern half of New Mexico while the rest of the state is forecast to be warm, mild and dry Thursday.

Temperatures started in the single-digits and teens from Raton down to Carlsbad and Hobbs up to Clayton. On the other side, temperatures were in the 20s and 30s from Taos down to Alamogordo and Deming up to Farmington.

Temperatures will warm up accordingly. Cold air locked in the east. Warmer air locked in the west.

This will start to change by Saturday. By Monday, places will rebound from the 30s to be in the 70s and 80s for high temperatures.
