‘Driver distraction’ blamed in crash involving NMHealth van

VALENCIA COUNTY, N.M. — A New Mexico Department of Health van drove into a ditch over the weekend near North Mesa Road in Valencia County.

The vehicle appears to be a handicap-accessible van. According to NMHealth, an employee was transporting a person in state care.

Both of them are OK. NMHealth is blaming the incident on driver distraction.
