Eddie Garcia: Temperatures will warm after storm passes
Winds will pick up Thursday as the winter storm moves out of the state, followed by a gradual rise in temperatures into next week.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Intermittent snow showers will continue around central and northern New Mexico this afternoon and evening, creating minor travel impacts.
Snow will be confined areas in and around the northern mountains late tonight through early Thursday afternoon, creating slick travel over mountain passes.
Gusty west winds are expected Thursday in the wake of this winter storm, favoring the typical windy areas east of the central mountain chain, where some patchy blowing dust could create minor visibility reductions.
Temperatures rapidly warm later this week and approach record territory by the weekend.
Dry and seasonably warm weather will prevail late week through at least the middle of next week, potentially longer.
Chief meteorologist Eddie Garcia has your full forecast in the video above.
