Man gets 1 year in prison for child solicitation

JonMichael Seagroves pleaded guilty to a charge he faced for trying to meet up with a child for sex last year, as a part of a sting operation.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A judge sentenced a man who pleaded guilty to a charge he faced after getting caught in an undercover sting operation targeting online child predators.
JonMichael Seagroves pleaded guilty to a charge of child solicitation by electronic communication device. Seagroves was arrested as part of a joint operation the New Mexico Department of Justice and law enforcement from Bernalillo County, Albuquerque and the FBI carried out.
In Seagroves’ case, he believed he was talking to a girl. He was actually talking to an undercover agent, leading to his arrest.
Seagroves will spend a year behind bars. Then, he will serve five years of probation. He will also be a registered sex offender for 10 years.
