Jury selection to begin Monday in murder retrial

The man who led police to his alleged murder victim is set to go on trial for a second time.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The man whose wife led police to his alleged murder victim is set to go on trial for a second time with jury selection set for Monday.

Raul Garcia is accused of killing Juan Cedeno in 2017. Police say he rolled up Cedeno’s body in a rug and dumped it in the West Mesa.

Garcia’s wife, Zuly Carrillo, allegedly told police about the murder and led them to the body, court documents show.

Police pulled the couple over while they were allegedly in the victim’s car, months after the murder. Prosecutors granted Carrillo immunity in exchange for her testimony.

Garcia went on trial last year. However, a judge had to declare a mistrial after Garcia got sick with pneumonia.
