The money will buy more pallet homes to give people a place to live and to get them off of the street.
SANTA FE, N.M. — The Santa Fe City Council approved money Wednesday night to expand their city pallet home community.
City councilors voted to put $2 million toward buying more pallet homes and building infrastructure when they create new sites.
The city is still looking for an additional $1 million to cover their cost of an additional site. The cost of that is estimated at over $3 million. They’re hoping to get that money from the state but are also looking at potentially using opioid settlement money.
