ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Stronger winds push into New Mexico and usher in fire weather alerts throughout the state Thursday.
Red flag warnings are posted throughout the state and smoke will also carry across the central part of the state, from T or C – near where the Bear Trap Fire and Black Fire are each burning – to Tucumcari and Santa Rosa.
Air quality warnings were in effect early Thursday for Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties and anyone with sensitivities should be advised amid the lingering smoke.
Temperatures are in the 80s and 90s statewide and some parts will see triple-digits.
Humidity levels are up in the northern part of the state as places such as Las Vegas and Taos are seeing humidity of more than 40% and even 65% or more in places such as Tucumcari and Clovis.
Winds will continue to kick up Friday before a cooldown Saturday. Eddie Garcia has the full forecast.
