True Heroes: Hiddekel Sara Burks

KOB 4 is proud to be working with New Mexico Magazine on the True Heroes project which recognizes ten outstanding New Mexicans for their exceptional work to help others and their communities.

Nominations from all over the state were reviewed by a panel of judges who then chose this year’s True Heroes.

Their efforts to help others cover a wide range and they live in small and large communities but they all share a commitment to improving life for others.

You’ve got to have dedication and talent to create a project that honors your culture in a way that could break a Guinness World Record. 

Albuquerque’s Hiddekel Sara Banks was inspired to do something beautiful that celebrates tradition – and a recent change in the law.
